Site Based Maintenance Engineer

Job Brief:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and dynamic Site Based Maintenance Engineer to complement the existing team based in Derby.

Working Pattern:

Initially, during the induction and training period, the role is Monday to Friday (Days). On successful completion (3-6 months) the engineer will be incorporated into covering a 4-shift system that operates from Sunday am through to Friday pm and all day Saturday (Day):

  • Morning (6.00 until 14.00)
  • Afternoon (14.00 until 22.00)
  • Night (22.00 until 6.00)

Role & Responsibilities:

  • First line reactive and planned maintenance support to a highly valued customer
  • Coordinate all new and active technical issues, report status with defect rectification plan
  • Assist the FM Manager in the day to day activities of the customer and maintenance team
  • From the Customer Satisfaction measurement, ensure that we are offering exemplary service
  • Assist in the identification of replacement parts
  • Assist in the implementation and continued certification of ISO9000

Qualifications: 

  • OND/HNC or equivalent experience in electrical, electronics and/or mechanics

Skills & Requirements:

  • Experience of PC based CNC equipment, drive systems, EDM and/or machine tools
  • Maintenance and alignment of precision Machine Tools, sub-assemblies and ancillary equipment
  • Clear and logical approach to fault finding complex electronic control systems
  • Working in line with current Health & Safety practices
  • Customer management, crisis control and problem solving
  • Ability to communicate and engage on all levels from operator to senior management
  • Strong I.T. Skills in Windows based OS (Word, Excel and Outlook

The required level of competence and experience cannot be attained without recognised, time served training. Training will be provided as necessary but it is expected that the successful candidate will have the underlying relevant experience.
