Project Manager

Job Purpose:

To lead project management activity for Winbro Advanced Machining in Shepshed.  This is a challenging & exciting opportunity for the right candidate to shape the future of a growing business, where change and improvement can be implemented rapidly. 

Projects will range from new part and technology introduction to increasing capacity and efficiency through machine tool implementation and optimisation.  

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously throughout their complete lifecycles
  • Manage project timing, risk management, cost and performance against agreed targets / budgets
  • Lead both internal and external customer reviews
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance & Finance to define and execute programmes of work
  • Interface directly with end customers and act as a single point of contact for project related matters
  • Implement clear and robust project governance to ensure timescales and deliverables are achieved to plan
  • Produce project documentation, metrics, presentations and visual management
  • Build and communicate detailed cross-functional plans using MS Project software

Qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing or another related discipline is highly desirable but not essential

Experience / Knowledge Requirements:

  • A demonstrated history of being able to deliver projects to schedule and within budget through resolute governance, risk & issue identification and mitigation
  • Prince 2 – or other industry recognised - professional accreditation is desirable
  • Experience leading projects and cross-functional teams in an Aerospace or Automotive manufacturing environment 
  • Experience in roles with direct customer exposure
  • Proficient in MS Project as well as the standard Microsoft Office tools i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc
  • Experience of New Product Introduction (NPI) is preferable
  • Experience using Continuous Improvement methodologies is a benefit, but not essential

  • Ability to interface with multiple functions at a technical level (Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, Quality)
