Quality & CI Engineer

We currently have a new opportunity available for an experienced Quality & CI Engineer to join our team at our WAM facility based in Shepshed.

Job Purpose:

To lead quality improvements and Lean initiatives in the WAM aerospace parts manufacturing facility (AS9100D accredited).  Implement improvements to process capability through structured, data driven problem solving and ensure appropriate tools and governance are in place to support continued, tangible improvement.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Drive waste reduction through structured Lean initiatives using tools such as Kaizen, VSM, Error Proofing, SMED, TPM, Line balancing, 6S, etc.
  • Support the Quality & CI Manager in delivering measured and sustained improvement in defect and cost reduction
  • Own and improve process capability (cp & cpk) using data analysis tools e.g. SPC / Minitab
  • Facilitate improvement events and lead by example using best practice
  • Solve problems in a structured & appropriate manner e.g. 3C / 8D / DMAIC
  • Coach team members on the proper use analytical tools ensuring results are embedded

Education Required:

  • 6 Sigma Green Belt as a minimum

Experience / Knowledge Required:

  • Proven track record of delivering Lean improvements in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Experience of precision manufacturing and processes such as High speed EDM drilling, Die Sink EDM, Laser drilling and Laser ablation is preferable
  • Exposure to hot gas path components of gas turbine engines is a benefit
  • Worked with turbine engine OEMs such as Rolls-Royce, Siemens, GE
