IT Systems Support Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity for a new IT Systems Support Analyst to join our Group Services IT team based in Coalville.

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for the support of our IT systems and will be an integral part of the group IT team which supports our UK sites as well as our Rock Hill, SC office in the US.

Typical support activities include end user support of Microsoft products, Mobile Device Management, Laptops and Desktop PCs, End User Computing platforms and applications, Network Issues, Phone Systems, and general Technical Support as required by the Business and end users. Support activities will be performed on site in our Coalville and Shepshed sites.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and Internet system or a segment of a network system
  • Responsible for monitoring network to ensure network availability to all system users
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
  • Configure, monitor and maintain email applications or virus protection software
  • Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Essential requirement
    • GCSE/Higher education
  • Desired but not essential
    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field
    • Industry certifications (Microsoft, Security, Cisco, AWS etc.)

Experience / Knowledge Requirements:

  • Microsoft Server 2008/2012/2016
    • Active Directory, DCHP, GPO, DNS, WSUS, High Availability, DFS, NLB, FSRM
  • Microsoft Desktop Application
    • Windows 10/8
    • Microsoft Office 2016  
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/Office365
    • Server Administrator, User, Groups, Mailbox and policy management
    • Office365 migration, configuration and administration
  • Microsoft SQL server administration
  • Cloud based solution
    • AWS, Azure
  • Software deployment
    • Windows Deployment Services, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, PDQ Deploy, ACRONIS, true image or similar products.
  • VOIP telephony experience (Shortel desirable)
  • Good understanding of Networking hardware and Protocols
    • VLANs, routing, SNMP, TCP, FTP, HEEP, ARP, ICMP, NAP, IPSec, Wi-Fi and LTE
    • Firewalls, switches(HP or Cisco), Wi-Fi AP
  • Security technologies
    • McAfee, EFS, Bitlocker, NAP
  • Virtualization technologies
    • Vmware, ESXi, vsphare, hyper-V
  • Mobile device management
  • Solid understanding of Hardware
    • DELL Desktop/Laptop
    • DELL Server

Skills & Aptitudes Required:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in providing IT support to end users
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work with stakeholders (company, partners, etc.) to achieve broader department goals
  • Aptitude to evaluate and become proficient in new (or new to you) technologies, processes, skills
