We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Buyer looking to further their career within our forward thinking Purchasing team based in Coalville.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high quality trading relationships with suppliers
  • Liaison with internal customers to determine supply and quality requirements
  • Project-based materials ownership
  • Provide accurate costing information and specifications from suppliers
  • Supply chain development
  • Negotiation of prices, terms and conditions to obtain the best quality supply and commercial agreement with suppliers
  • Raise, monitor and progress chase purchase orders
  • Deliver quantifiable cost saving results without compromising quality
  • Maintaining system (FM).  Working with BOMs, updating internal work orders
  • Moving & issuing materials to & within work orders
  • Expediting

Educational Attainment Required:

  • Good standard of education
  • CIPS qualified or working towards CIPS qualification

Experience / Knowledge Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working in a fast paced environment
  • Ideally previous buying/selling experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of purchasing techniques demonstrated through negotiation and managing the supply base
  • Experience of sourcing complex machined components
  • Knowledge of Factorymaster would be desirable but not essential
