Winbro Joins TWI

Winbro has taken out industrial membership of The Welding Institute (TWI), bringing together TWI’s worldwide reputation as a leader in welding technologies and Winbro’s expertise in design and manufacture of precision 5-axis non-conventional machine tools.

The intention is to collaborate on the development of high-productivity Laser welding systems which address the needs of the Electric Vehicle, Medical and other high-value engineering sectors. These markets are currently often served by robot-based welding systems which do not always provide the necessary levels of precision and occupy a much larger footprint.

Discussions are currently under way regarding applications for public funding to support a collaborative Research & Development project.
